McCarty has such a great style of writing that sucks you right into the characters surroundings with a story that just flows from the pages. I quickly read through the inventory of the local library and was soon buying bags of romances at garage sales. He vows revenge against the rival MacDonald clan, though duty demands a handfast marriage to Isabel MacDonald–a bride he does not want and has untmed intention of keeping. A Storm of Pleasure. Meg has always been very serious and absolutely scrupulous about her duties as the daughter of a Laird.
I mean after sharing such bliss, is this what she got? It was also a matter of pride for Alex. Alex proves to be a hero as good as his brother and Meg is a strong, worthy heroine.

She was a bit confused, as Alex intended her to be, about his role as their savior but nevertheless, she was attracted. Rory now realizes, with a little talk from Margaret, that he needs to reclaim Isabel no matter what.
I keep skipping page after page. Having been to Edinburgh and to the Palace and Holyrood Park I enjoyed the descriptions of the sites and it was nice having an actual visual of the locations. Meg understands a lot of the things and immediately forgives Alex. Again the King is looking to screw the Highlanders over basically, and give away their lands to the “Lowlanders” But there’s a lot to this book. Oct 22, Jennifer rated it really liked it.
She knew marrying Jamie would be the best choice but Alex was always on her mind. Growing up in California there was always plenty to do outside, but all too often I could be found inside curled up with a book or two or three.

Unfortunately neither the hero nor the heroine were of untameed help here, be The story has a lot of potential, but if I had to describe this book in one word, that word would be “boring”. Rory’s little sister Margaret had been in a handfast type of marriage to the McDonald laird. Suddenly he hears a scream and while he knows it would be better for his mission to just ignore it, he and his men ride to the rescue of a small retinue of ladies and their guards under attack by brigands bent on murder.
I loved these two together and the story flowed seamlessly from scene to scene as the characters make their way through the intrigue of court and Home Contact Us Help Free delivery worldwide. I enjoyed it but I felt like some parts of the story were dragging or slow. Meg barely got a look at the man who rescued her, but she’s all but certain that this newcomer, Alex MacLeod, is that man. Of course, it was a lie. He is strong and determined, with multiple dimensions to his character.

It was pretty predictable storywise and yes, boring! But Meg refuses him, knowing there is a chance that Alex was lying that day.
highlandef Scottish Highlands Very frustrating for me. MacLeods of Skye Trilogy 2. Alex goes on to his mission in Lewis. He was so cruel to poor Margaret, Rory’s lovely little sister.
I couldn’t help but to fall in love with Rory and Isabel Dunvegan castle and their fairy flag. The next day, Meg begs Alex to let her stay with him but Alex refuses.
But what pissed me off, in the later parts of the book, was his stubbornness about this whole thing and dragging Meg into all these and then hurt her, over and over again. The Highlander’s Stolen Heart. Isabel takes care of him day and night, very much afraid for his life.

Anyway, my 1st read of Monica McCarty was not fun or even interesting. After it was foiled, Alex kisses her and holds her, yet again pushes her away when Dougal comes to take her back. There was a lot more action in this book compared to the first one and I reckon I was born in the wrong era and the wrong country but I got a thing for fighting Scots men, someone literally fighting to protect me I think the moment was lost with all the romantic hoo-haw.
How could she risk so much by coming here?
